The Puzzle
by Jim Duckett (key of A)

Once there was a man, I'd pass by
Enroute to school
He would always wave from his front porch
I thought, “He's cool.”
I wondered what it was he was doing
But he seemed to do it every day
(Instr.)
One day I got real brave, and went
And said hello
There on his front porch
He was all right you know
I wondered what it was that he was doing
And why he did it every day
(Instr.)
He had a puzzle,the great
Big jigsaw kind
He didn't have a lot to do
But it occupied his mind
Then I figured out what it was he was doing
And why he did it every day
(Instr.)
