Valentines Day 2005 I wrote this song for my girlfriend. The gift was the lyrics to this song burned into a plaque of wood. She must have liked it because she is now my wife, and the plaque is still hanging on our wall. Nearly six years later these lyrics are still just as valid. I recorded the song as an anniversary present to my always lovely wife, Rita.
Lyrics:
Seasons pass without a sunny afternoon
No starry nights no silver crescent moon
Until you find a love
Someone just for you
Just like a ghost that wanders with no soul
Nothing to anchor it or make it whole
Until you find her there
Waiting just for you
And she'll help you through
Life can drag you down
Drive you into the ground
But she's there for you
And you'll make it through
The path of life is filled with mountains high
Sheer cliffs that rise above to make you cry
Until you see her there, with a hand to help you
Up into the blue, where there's hope for you
Life can drag you down
Drive you into the ground
But you gotta find what it's all about
You gotta take her in your arms and find out
You gotta let her have your heart
Because you know that she won't break it apart
Someone just for you
Always there for you
And she'll help you through
She'll bring hope to you
And that's when you'll see
Everything that you can be
The mountains now will seem like hills
But don't you ever think
Without her you won't sink
You'll still need her to help you fly
Now she's there for you
To help you make it through
Life can drag you down
Drive you into the ground
And you know just when you think your life can't be found
You're gonna find what it's all about
You're gonna take her in your arms and find out
You're gonna let her have your heart
Because you know that she won't break it apart
