I grew up in rural Indiana as the middle child in a musical family. At age 12, I started teaching myself to play piano and got my first electric guitar at 14. I spent my free time during my teenaged years listening to Queen, Uriah Heep, Three-Dog Night, Pink Floyd, and Styx albums over and over. In High School I was in a very popular and extremely busy Show Choir, acted in musicals (playing Tevye my senior year in Fiddler on the Roof), and also sang Tenor in a Gospel Quartet called "Light". When I got out of High School in 1981 there were no jobs anywhere so I got on as singer in a Hard Rock/Metal cover band called Ground Zero. Did a lot of crazy things...or so I hear. Released the EP "White Hot" in 1986 with a band called Braxton and in 1992 an album called "21st Century Cowboy" with the band Allison Sane. In the mid 90s I stopped performing to be a family man, but now the kids are leaving the nest so its back to performing. I write songs and play guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, ukelele, and drums (well enough to keep a beat, but not to be considered a "drummer")...all self-taught.
