Since the discovery of Tina Turner's number one hit: 'What's love got to do with it', in 1984 at age 7 fell in love with music. Being forced indirectly to memorize Tina's song, my mother enrolled me in a camp called: Summer Fame, in my hometown Syracuse NY where I placed second in a vocal competition. Chorus, musicals, & dance groups soon followed while listening to Sade, U2 & Mary J. Blige to get me through. At age 14 received my first guitar & took voice lessons for 2 years at 16, and competed in a national opera contest. It wasn't until many moons later in 2010, that I began singing back up with the legendary: Dex Romweber in a couple bands; Dexter Romweber and The New Romans & Deep Set Quartet. While also singing back up on occasional solo gigs. I have been writing original songs for almost 2 years now, & has been life altering. Tom Maxwell, another musically astute artist who wrote the top 20 hit: Hell, catapulted the eclectic gypsy jazz, 1930's era-swing band; The Squirrel Nut Zippers into being nationally recognized & has been accompanying me on guitar in recording my songs & solo shows. In 2013, placed in the Song Of The Year Contest with a song I wrote called; The most. Feel my soul awakens thru the creative process of songwriting and am eternally grateful.
