Matheus Neder, born in April 30, 1980, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, moved to São João del-Rei, countryside, in 1983, where he lived until 2007.

He started playing in 1993 when he inherited an acoustic guitar from his great-aunt. At that time a group of friends started playing together, specifically guitar, with the influence of a new member in the group who had already been playing for some time.

In the same year, Matheus took some acoustic guitar lessons focused on Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), however, despite learning a lot about musical theory, he had no enthusiasm to continue further studies because that was not a genre of his interest. The actual guitar practice came mainly by playing the Black Sabbath songs, which was his favorite band at that time.

The following year (1994) he got a electric guitar as a gift from his father and formed his first band. Despite his newness at that time, he even composed some instrumental tracks. During the following years he took part in a few bands, doing covers of bands such as Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and others.

Around 1996 he started studying classical piano in order to learn more about musical theory and formed a band with friends to play rock: Led Zeppelin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jethro Tull, AC/DC in addition to endless improvisations.

In 2000 Matheus was invited for an impromptu session which later gave rise to the band "Os Escalas", formed by: Matheus Neder (guitar), Rodrigo Maia (vocals and rhythm guitar) and David Mol (drums). "Os Escalas" performed its own music. The songs were typically made from the vocalist's ideas or by pure improvisation which were recorded and, later, discovered by listening to the tapes. Although the band had a singer, the lyrics were always an issue since they didn't fit. The band lasted until 2006 when Matheus decided move on to new musical projects.

In 2007 Matheus moved to Belo Horizonte to work as a computer programmer and in 2008 started a computer engineering graduation course and his graduation is foreseen for 2013.

In the years between 2008 and 2010 he tried to assemble a band to perform covers of "Thin Lizzy", one of his favorite bands, but without success.

In 2011 Matheus started a solo project, such as "a one-man band", initially with instrumental tracks of his own. From this work, he met Johnny Gray at ReverbNation (website focused on the independent music industry). Johnny contacted Matheus and asked for permission to put vocal on "Pola", one of his instrumental tracks, originating "Why Don't You Stay", the first work from this partnership. The work carried out by the duo is been done through the Internet. Matheus composes the instrumental part and Johnny Gray is responsible for the vocals and lyrics. Matheus is always looking for new musicians partners. For now, mainly drummers to record on studio, such as Daniel Starling, who recorded the drums on "Why Won't You". Bass players and guitarists are also welcome for him to form a band to play live in the near future. The production, mixing and finalization of the songs are been made by Matheus. The interesting thing in this partnership is that Matheus Neder and Johnny Gray still haven't met in person.
