Wild Wisteria Band
Savannah, Georgia, USA
Postal code:
Country, Southern Rock, Blues
Leslie Carter, Chris Carusos
Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Billie Holiday, Patsy Cline, Jimi Hendrix, Allman Bros., Tom Petty and many others

Though they cite diverse artists like Billie Holiday, Etta James, Patsy Cline, Led Zeppelin, and Jimi Hendrix as musical favorites, Wild Wisteria Band lead singer/songwriter Leslie Carter and producer/songwriter/guitarist Chris Carusos play music cut from a different cloth. Although rooted in country blues and Southern rock, Wild Wisteria Band works a far meatier spectrum of soundscapes blended with catchy, radio friendly hooks and harmonies.
Even though theyre a relatively newer Country/Southern rock band, theyre trying to reach an audience that wants to find something that rocks and is musically a little different in the way the songs are crafted. You can do a lot of creative layering with vocals and guitars even in a three or four chord country/rock formula, says Chris. You can be catchy without being slick, contemporary without using an all too familiar spoon-fed formula, and you can be uplifting without being full of yourself, he adds. We wanted to be a reaction against a lot of the soulless product saturating the marketplace.

Leslie is a Savannah native, and Chris is a native New Yorker. After listening to each others music on ReverbNation, they decided to join forces and quickly started playing as a duo. Both share a passion for music and a quiet determination to be as good as they possibly can be. "We started playing in the living room in front of my friends and Chriss fiancee, Leslie shares. We knew we had a unique sound from the first note. Now we just had to find a larger audience than three people to hear it, she laughs.
Chris has been a professional musician all his adult life. He has played, traveled with and opened for Johnny Winter, Rick Derringer, Sam the Sham, Jay Black, Tommy James, Corky Laing, Leslie West, Steppenwolf and Twisted Sister. Leslie has been singing as far back as she can remember and turned professional about six years ago. Theyre getting ready to release their first collection of original songs in the fall of 2015.
