Bio

Hi guys, Basically I'm a singer songwriter who engineers, mixes and masters all of my own music from my garage studio. I'm currently finishing off a degree in audio engineering at SAE in Byron Bay.
Some of my influences are Peter Gabriel, Marillion, Dave Matthews Band, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Jeff Buckley, Loreena Mckennitt and Pink Floyd(showing my age here ha ha).
Musically I like to explore different Styles and try and mix things up a bit. One of the main elements I'm focused on, is trying to convey the emotion of the music and lyrics in a way that evokes imagery.
It's a shame I have to upload MP3's as Some sound quality is lost in the conversion. In the future I will upgrade so everyone can hear the songs as they are meant to be heard.
I'm constantly trying to hone my skills on both the playing and recording aspects of my music. With this in mind I hope you appreciate the recordings for what they are and realise that they weren't recorded in an expensive studio.
My good friend Darryn Holland plays all the bass on my songs and I couldn't ask for a more tasteful player. His bass lines bring my songs to life.
I generally play all the drums but sometimes use Cameron Roydhouse because I don't play drums much these days( To busy trying not to be shit on guitar haha). He's a versatile drummer that effortlessly slips into any groove.
If I need help on the guitar I always call on either Vuk (The Serbian Model) Bortnik or Geoff Nichol. Both very experienced and accomplished guitar players in their own right.
My next two recordings in the pipeline will be for an assignment at SAE which will see me arranging Peter Gabriels 'Don't Give Up' and Led Zeppelins 'Whole Lotta Love' with no instrumentation other then vocal layering. The lovely voice of Kylie Lucas will be joining me on vocals for these arrangements. I sincerely hope you will enjoy these lush arrangements.
Thats about it for now, thanks for taking the time out to read this Bio and I hope to bless your speakers soon.
Also guys I would appreciate any comments both positive and negative if you have the time.
Cheers Richard
