Kimberly Torres has lots of life experience to write about. She was born in Alabama but spent the better part of her childhood moving around her home state of Louisiana with a couple of stops in Texas along the way. By 1995 she had moved over 16 times and experienced more than most do in an entire lifetime. In school she found her passion for music and it became evident it was what she was created to do. She studied several vocal styles in high school, including opera, and excelled at them all. She was also a versatile actress and performed in several school and community theater productions. After graduation, she moved a few more times but kept singing. While living in Louisiana she performed with a few cover bands, but stopped to raise children and focus on her career. However, music remained a very important part of her life.

After a few failed relationships, lots of soul searching, the loss of close family members, finally discovering the love of her life, and moving to the Dallas area, Kimberly finally decided to pursue her love for music full time. In 2007 she joined On the Way, as the lead singer, and began performing throughout the metropolex at venues such as The Glass Cactus, The House of Blues, Reflections and Filthy McNastys. Performing on a regular basis helped hone Kimberlys stage presence, create a fan base, and develop her skill for song writing. With a life story like hers she had more than enough material to draw on and write about; in September of 2010 she penned and recorded what has become her first single, Everything You Aint. On The Way eventually became Afterdark, a pop/dance cover band that allowed Kimberly to perform every style and artist from Michael Jackson to Lady GaGa, and helped her realize that performing her own music is what she was called to do. In June of 2011 Kimberly competed and placed 2nd in the 1st annual Stage Barons song writer contest and was afforded the opportunity to record her first album; she spent the summer writing and the result was worth the effort. A year after writing and recording her first song, Kimberly recorded 9 original songs at Studio 333 located at the KE Bushmans Cellar in Bullard, TX, left the world of pop, and is now fully devoted to performing as an original Texas Country artist. Kimberlys music is eclectic much like her and includes everything from traditional country 2-steps to bluesy rockers and soulful ballads.

Whether performing acoustically or with a full band, Kimberly brings a contemporary edge to the traditional country sound. Mixing in popular country, dance, and rock music with her original music; she delivers a high energy performance that keeps fans wanting more!
