Bio

THE HERITAGE is a five piece Southern Hardcore band from the boondocks of Monroe, Louisiana. Fueled by their intense live shows & powerful heavy southern music, the band began in the summer of 2006. Vocalist Heath Gorman & guitarist Mitch Laing formed the original line-up with drummer Jake Phillips, bassist Cody Collingsworth, and guitarist Jeff Jopling. After recording a five song EP, the band quickly began touring through out the Louisiana, Arkansas, & Mississippi area. By the end of the year they had opened for bands like The Showdown, War of Ages, and fellow Monroe band Twelve Gauge Valentine.
The band went on a hiatus from 2008 to late 2010. Each band member had different opportunities career-wise to pursue. Mitch & Jeff pursued a career in film. Heath acted in their film Neer-do-wells & pursued his electricians license. Cody &Jake both pursued careers in ministry work. In late 2010 Heath & Mitch reformed the band w/ Cody Smith on drums, Jordan Shaw on bass/ vocals, and Taylor Ford on guitar. The band quickly picked up where they left off. With new material & more intense live shows, THE HERITGE began playing packed shows in their hometown. After recording 2 singles in The Mike Mckenzie Studio in Tim McGraws hometown of Stuart, LA, the band began traveling their old stomping grounds in south Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas. In Nov 2011 the band has studio time booked @ Universal Studios in Atlanta, GA for a new single. After its release the band has plans to do another tour of the ArkLaMiss by summer of 2012.
