In early 1992 we were the Flyboys when then bass player Rob O'Rourke came to the mic during practice and said, "And now for the Bossa Nova Beatnik sound of Tom Gould." Although we were not a Bossa Nova band, the name stuck. We have done a bossa or two and a few samba's. The original Bossa was a hybrid between the blues and samba. We continue in that spirit of exploring musical hybrids. We encourage everyone to discover the music of the bossa pioneers Jobim and Gilberto and the wonderful rhythms of Brazil.
